An Advocate to Help Stop Foreclosure

December 15th, 2008 by Cassiano Travareli

Hearing the words foreclosures and mortgage is always negative that it sounds like no one can stop a foreclosure anymore.

In advocateaime.com, Aime Jackson wrote about her foreclosure which started in a string of mishap made by a lender’s agent’s carelessness such as not being able to submit payments for three months and not updating her files.

Her home was placed in non-payment status without appropriate notice under Texas Property Code. Payments were applied to wrong account and mistakes in procedure were made when foreclosure was filed. The story was broadcast on TV by News 8.

Cases like this are not unusual. Lenders have many cases and files that it gets mixed up. She added that in some instances, people are being ignored.

Jackson and her family were able to save the house, but that was after she suffered from foreclosure proceedings.

She gained experience and learned effective ways and is currently giving assistance to help stop foreclosure.

Her website aims to help, promote and protect consumer rights.

Tips she offered to homeowners are the following:

  • Do not be afraid to face a foreclosure process. Property owners receive a lot of mails regarding foreclosures and most of the time tends to feel very overwhelmed with the situation.
  • Get all information regarding the lender and the holder of lien on the property to make sure that everything is prepared for any circumstances that may occur.
  • Giving up is not the solution. Lenders and banks care less as a homeowner and his family is the one suffering and not them.
  • Inform other people to get proper attention needed in the case.

She also stated that it is not the end for struggling homeowners. Her house had been foreclosed, but she was able to turn her situation around.

Jackson’s situation may be rare, but she is helping a lot of distressed homeowners to continue fighting until the end. That way, they will be inspired and can help stop foreclosures as well.
