Additional Info

A part of the Northeast Louisiana legal community for over sixty-five years.

COTTON, BOLTON, HOYCHICK & DOUGHTY, L.L.P. is a law firm combining the traditional values of the past with an innovative vision for the future. Shortly after their homecoming from World War II as decorated war heroes, W. Davis Cotton and George W. Bolton, Jr. returned to Rayville, Louisiana with the goal of establishing a thriving law practice based on the principles of integrity and hard work. Adherence to these principles has resulted in a growing law firm with offices in Rayville and Monroe which is considered to be one of the finest in Northeastern Louisiana. Although the Firm's roots are in Richland Parish, with a growing proportion of its legal work in Ouachita Parish, it was necessary that the Firm expand to add a Monroe office in the BancorpSouth building.

The strength and heart of the firm lies in its members. W. Davis Cotton was a former Louisiana State Senator, past Louisiana Bar Association president, and the author of a book tracing the roots of his family: The Cottons of Catahoula Parish, which has been recognized as a 1988 National History Award competition winner. George W. Bolton, Jr. is a Bronze Star recipient, the only recipient of Board Member Emeritus of the Louisiana Baptist Children's Home, and past Chairman of the Board of First Republic Bank (now BancorpSouth). All of the partners in the firm are actively involved in community affairs, including educational, religious and civic organizations. The Firm has produced two judges for the Fifth Judicial District, Judge Glenn D. Roberts who served as Judge for more than 20 years, and Judge Terry A. Doughty who is currently serving as Judge for the Fifth Judicial District Court.

Cotton, Bolton, Hoychick & Doughty, L.L.P. offers a full array of services to an impressive list of clients. Though rurally located, the Monroe and Rayville offices are fully equipped with the latest technology in order to provide clients with the same legal services and technology available to firms in larger metropolitan areas.
