Montgomery & Andrews, P.A. was founded in the 1930s by J.O. Seth and A. K. Montgomery, and is now the largest firm in Santa Fe. "M&A" is known for the quality, breadth and depth of its legal and regulatory expertise and its familiarity with the personnel and processes of the executive and legislative branches of New Mexico government. Its attorneys represent clients statewide in virtually all areas of civil law, including civil litigation, natural resources, environmental, legislative, regulatory, business, employment relations, health services, real estate, insurance defense, banking and creditors' rights. The firm's governmental relations lawyers have extensive experience representing clients on matters involving the executive and legislative branches of New Mexico state government, as well as in regulatory matters.

The firm has had members serving the state legislature at various times throughout its history. In addition, a late senior judge of the United States Tenth Circuit Court of Appeals, a late Chief Justice of the New Mexico Supreme Court and a former Chief federal district judge for the District of New Mexico were members of the firm.

The firm has also been active in national, state and local bar associations and has a long tradition of community service. Attorneys in the firm have served as president or commissioner of the New Mexico State Bar and on the boards of numerous state and local business and arts organizations.

Montgomery & Andrews opened its Albuquerque office in January 2008. The members of this office were formerly with Sturges, Houston & Sexton, P.C. The addition of this office expands the firm's practice in the areas of Architectural Malpractice, Engineering Malpractice and First-Party Insurance Defense.
